Small business group commends administration’s efforts to lower healthcare costs
Small Business for America’s Future network member Rebecca Koontz, owner of Bush Crane, Inc. in Morrisville, NY comments on Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra visit to New York
June 30, 2023– Rising healthcare costs is a top concern of small business owners. Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra's visit to New York highlights the Biden administration's commitment to addressing the issue.
People are already seeing savings thanks to the Inflation Reduction Act. The policy includes a provision that requires drugmakers to offer rebates for charging prices that rise faster than inflation for people on Medicare. Recipients could see savings on
43 prescription drugs including medications for cancer and arthritis.
Lowering prescription drug costs is not only vital for the financial stability of small businesses, but it also directly impacts the health and welfare of owners and employees. For too long, the burden of exorbitant healthcare expenses has hindered our ability to grow and thrive.
Our hope is that, instead of chipping away at this groundbreaking legislation, lawmakers will instead focus on solutions to help Main Street thrive.
