Infrastructure Investments Bolster Small Businesses and Strengthen Local Economies
Statement by Rhett Buttle, Senior Advisor to Small Business for America’s Future on Vice President Kamala Harris' Thursday event in Washington, D.C. and how infrastructure investments across the country are helping small businesses
Washington, D.C., April 13, 2023—As the Biden-Harris Administration's Investing in America tour concludes today, Vice President Kamala Harris will announce a significant infrastructure project connecting Virginia to Washington, D.C. This announcement and the entire tour emphasized the nationwide impact of infrastructure investments, which have positively affected small businesses and communities across the country.
Over the three-week tour, President Biden, Vice President Harris, and senior Administration Officials visited more than 25 states, showcasing the impact of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the Inflation Reduction Act, the CHIPS and Science Act, and the American Rescue Plan.
The administration's accomplishments, such as mobilizing over $435 billion in private sector manufacturing investments, creating more than 12 million jobs, and funding 23,000 infrastructure projects across 4,500 cities and towns, are a boon for small businesses and local economies.
The project connecting Virginia to Washington, D.C. clearly demonstrates how infrastructure investment can empower small businesses. As the Investing in America tour comes to a close, I am optimistic that the continued implementation of the administration's agenda will pave the way for even greater prosperity for small businesses across the nation.
Here’s what small business owners are saying about Vice President Kamala Harris’s announcement today.
