Georgia Small Business Owners Applaud Push to Build a Clean Energy Economy That Will Open Opportunities for Main Street

Statement from Small Business for America’s Future Georgia Chapter Director Jim Duffett ahead of Vice President Kamala Harris’s visit to a solar panel manufacturer in Dalton, Georgia.

Dalton, Georgia, April 6, 2023–  Vice President Kamala Harris is scheduled to tour solar panel manufacturer Qcells today to highlight the administration’s efforts to invest in clean energy.

Qcells recently announced plans to expand in Georgia creating new jobs and opportunities for small businesses.

This is a result of the Inflation Reduction Act, legislation that is investing in building a clean energy economy in the United States. The law also addresses some of the most pressessing issues affecting small business owners like high healthcare costs and unfair tax advantages for major corporations.

It is clear that investment in clean energy is good for the environment and our economy.

Small business owners in Georgia want to see similar policies that will help them thrive but need lawmakers to find common ground to get work done.

Here’s what other small business owners are saying ahead of Vice President Kamala Harris’s visit:

“As a small business owner, I appreciate the current administration’s efforts to boost spending on infrastructure and clean energy. This will not only create jobs, it is taking a step in the right direction to address climate change, one of the most pressing issues of our lifetime.”

“I appreciate the current administration’s focus on policies that will help bolster our economy and protect our environment. That’s why I am strongly urging lawmakers to work together to continue to help small businesses like mine thrive by coming up with common sense legislation that can benefit more than just a few people.”

“As Georgians we are not only proud but also dedicated to building a more sustainable future for everyone.  That is why I am excited to hear about Qcells expansion plans during Vice President Kamala Harris’s trip Thursday. This expansion will not only benefit our environment but the economy too. Georgia's supply chain will boost, directly benefiting big and small businesses alike.”
