Small Business for America’s Future national snap survey shows small business owners strongly support the nomination of  Ketanji Brown Jackson to serve as an associate justice to the United StatesSupreme Court justice and want the Senate to confirm her without delay

Washington, D.C., March 29, 2022—A new national snap survey from Small Business for America’s Future shows small business owners support the nomination of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson as an associate justice to the  Supreme Court justice and want the Senate to confirm her without delay. The survey of 1,022 small business owners fielded from March 19-23, shows that entrepreneurs believe Supreme Court rulings have a significant impact on their business and they feel that the court should reflect the diversity of our country in ethnicity, gender and ideological opinion.

Furthermore, 61% of small business owners surveyed say they trust Jackson to make decisions that are in the best interest of small businesses and the country.

Specifically, the survey results show:

●      69% of small business owners surveyed think the Senate should confirm Ketanji Brown Jackson as a Supreme Court Justice

●      87% of small business owners say decisions made by the U.S. Supreme Court have an impact on them as a small business owner

●      61% of small business owners surveyed say they trust Judge Jackson to make decisions that are in the best interest of small businesses and the country

●      73% think it's important to have a diverse U.S. Supreme Court as it relates to gender and ethnicity, with 62% thinking it's very important

●     74% say it's important to maintain a balance of ideological opinion on the Supreme Court

●      75% believe the Senate should not use procedural rules or other tactics to delay the confirmation of the next Supreme Court Justice and dragging out the process will only divide the country even further

“The Supreme Court regularly rules on issues that impact businesses and we all have a stake in the next Supreme Court Justice. Judge Jackson has the exceptional credentials, experience, character, and integrity needed to make decisions in the best interest of small businesses and the country,” said Tiara Flynn, president and CEO Sumnu Marketing and member of Small Business for America’s Future Small Business Council. “A strong economy and stable democracy hinge upon a just judicial system that represents the diversity and strength of our country. We are confident that Judge Jackson will be an excellent addition to our nation’s Supreme Court.”

The survey also found:

●      79% of small business owners are following the news about the opening on the Supreme Court

●      56% of small business owners trust President Biden’s judgment on who should be the next Supreme Court justice

The survey is the latest indication of strong business support for Jackson. On Thursday, diverse business groups sent a letter to senators demonstrating their support for Jackson. Friday, those business groups held a briefing to urge the Senate to confirm Jackson to serve on the Supreme Court.
