Florida small business owners encouraged by policies that will help address the climate crisis and build a clean energy economy
Small Business for America’s Future council member Conchie Fernández will attend Vice President Kamala Harris’ discussion on climate change and extreme weather in Miami, Florida today
Miami, April 21, 2023– Climate change is one of the most pressing issues of our lifetime and could have monumental effects on small businesses if nothing is done.
Small Business for America’s Future is encouraged by the current administration’s policies that will help to mitigate the crisis and build a clean energy economy.
“Here in Florida we see the effects of climate change as extreme weather worsens, displacing families and small businesses,” said Small Business for America’s Future Council member Conchie Fernández, founding Partner,
CF Creative. “Climate denialism is hurtful to small businesses. I am happy the Biden administration is giving this issue the attention and funding it needs before it is too late.”
The Inflation Reduction Act
is the most aggressive climate legislation in U.S. history. It includes funding and incentives to transition to clean energy and measures to lower high healthcare costs and makes sure big corporations pay their fair share when it comes to taxes.
“Policies that focus on bolstering our economy and addressing climate change are exactly what Main Street needs to succeed.” said Rhett Buttle, advisor for Small Business for America’s Future. “In times of crisis small businesses have always been the heroes of our economy. We need to make sure that the proper policies are in place to help them grow.”
